In 1958, Robert Berking took over at the helm of the company. He managed to transform the regional supplier into Europe's leading cutlery manufacturer. The model range he designed played a significant role in the extraordinary revenue growth. With the set-up of its own handcrafting production of silver tableware and gift items, the cutlery producer became a true silver manufactory.

In a time during which many companies operate in line with the motto "faster, higher, cheaper", Robbe & Berking stands for tradition, quality and handwork "made in Germany" (in Flensburg). The company is now in the fifth generation of family owners, and Oliver Berking also feels the obligation to follow his great-great-grandfather's maxim: "Others may make it more cheaply, but no one may make it better than us."
