Fulvio Bianconi, an artist from Padua, designed the Fazzoletti vase around 70 years ago. The production of this classic is what makes it so special: glass mass is blown into a ball then cut open at the upper end. The unmistakable shape of the vase is the created through skilful movements of the glass artists. This gives each Fazzoletto (Italian for cloth) an individual form and makes each one unique! After this success, in the years that followed, artists, architects and designers were desperate to work for Venini. The death of Paolo Venini in 1959 did not change this. In the 1980s, Alessandro Mendini and others designed for Venini, in the 1990s Ettore Sotsass. To this day, world famous artists such as Tadao Ando or Matteo Thun continue to create new collections or unique pieces.
