The bread plate from the URBINO service by KPM Berlin impresses with its flat, curved coupe shape. It is modeled on flagless Renaissance plates, such as those created in the Italian city of Urbino, famous for its ceramic manufactories. The service owes its name URBINO to this source of inspiration. With a diameter of 15.5 centimetres, the small plate is not only suitable for bread, but also for an amuse bouche, confectionery or pastries with coffee. A hand-drawn, filigree black frame of the Canto decor emphasizes the reduced circular shape that underlies the aesthetics of the URBINO collection by Trude Petri and makes its balanced form a new experience on the table.
